I too have a...Congrats on your solar water heater. I too have a solar thermal system, though I opted for the evacuated tube collectors which are a bit pricier. I feel they're worth it for the extra heat they can extract from the sun. With the City of Austin rebate and federal tax credit, my payback calculation is 6-7 years, which agrees with the installer's estimate. My net out of pocket cost was $3k which is pretty darn good for a system that can run 20 yrs or more.
